1. High Gear (1933) – James Murray:

When Mark 'High Gear' Sherrod (Murray) looses his nerve, the race car driver takes a job driving a taxi, but when he befriends a cute reporter and the young handicapped son of a deceased driver, he attempts to return to the track.

2. Roaring Roads (1935) – Dave Sharpe:

This picture is an early showcase for David Sharpe, who was to become one of the premier stunt men of the 20th Century with feats and credits in literally hundreds of films and TV show.

Young David Norton (Dave Sharpe), heir to millions, has been over-zealously restrained from normal youthful activities by his two old-maid Aunts, Harriet and Agatha. In an outburst from his confinement, he meets lovely Gertrude, and promises to race her injured-brothers car in the Big Race. Between the gangsters trying to win the race by disabling him, and his bungling bodyguards trying to bring him home safely, David has a battle to win the race and Gertrude's heart. He succeeds in winning the race, capturing the gangsters and gets his aunt's understanding release.

3. The Fast And The Furious (1955) – John Ireland:

A man wrongly imprisoned for murder (John Ireland) breaks out of jail. He wants to clear his name, but with the police pursuing him, he's forced to take a beautiful young woman, driving a fast sports car, hostage and slip into a cross-border sports car race to try to make it to Mexico before the police get him.
