Kirk Douglas in There Was A Crooked Man
1. Adventures of Gallant Bess (1948 -COLOR)- Cameron Mitchell
Ted Daniels (Cameron Mitchell), a ranch hand working for a rodeo, captures a magnificent wild horse that he tames and trains. As Ted is recovering from an accident that happened during a rodeo, the rodeo owner cheats him out of his horse. Ted must decide whether to pursue him and try to recover the horse, or whether to settle down with the doctor's daughter who is nursing him back to health.
2. The Big Cat (1949 - Color) – Lon McCallister & Preston Foster: During the Great Depression, a young man (Lon McCallister) leaves his Eastern home for his late mother's birthplace in the Utah hills. He finds that things are far from peaceful on the frontier, thanks to a feud between rival ranchers and a deadly mountain lion on the prowl.
6. Daniel Boone, Trail Blazer(1956 - Color) – Bruce Bennett & Lon Chaney JR.:
Daniel Boone (Bruce Bennett) leads settlers into Kentucky, but must battle Shawnee Indians who have been persuaded by a French renegade that Boone and the settlers are there to kill them and steal their land.
7. The Beast of Hollow Mountain (1956 - Color) - Guy Madison:
An American cowboy (Guy Madison) living in Mexico discovers his cattle is being eaten by a giant prehistoric dinosaur. The first feature film to combine stop-motion animation with widescreen and color.
5. Rage at Dawn (1955) – COLOR – Randolph Scott:
Terrorizing 1866 Indiana, the Reno brothers gang (The first train robbers in American history) uses the town of Seymour as a safe haven, paying off three crooked town officials. Sent in to clean up the gang is Peterson Detective Agency operative James Barlow (Randolph Scott), who poses as an outlaw to gain the confidence of the officials and the thick-headed brothers.
3. High Lonesome (1950 Color) - John Drew Barrymore:
When there is a sudden outbreak of mysterious murders in the Texas Big Bend country, a young drifter new to the area, played by John Barrymore, is the prime suspect.
Captured and held for the murders, the rancher who is holding Barrymore does not realize that he has been set up to take the fall for these murders by some men who were thought to have been killed years before in a range war.
Now these despicable men are back and are getting their own revenge on those who were involved in the range war which left them wounded.
4. Vengance Valley (1951 - Color) - Burt Lancaster
A cattle baron takes in an orphaned boy and raises him, causing his own son to resent the boy. As they get older the resentment festers into hatred, and eventually the real son frames his stepbrother (Burt Lancaster) for fathering an illegitimate child that is actually his, seeing it as an opportunity to get his half-brother out of the way so he can have his father's empire all to himself.
Based on the novel and Saturday Evening Post serial by Luke Short.
9. There Was A Crooked Man (1970 - Color) – Kirk Douglas & Henry Fonda:
Charm, intelligence and success in criminal career doesn't prevent Paris Pitman Jr. (Kirk Douglas) from starting to do ten years in territory prison. However, those years should pass quickly because of enormous loot previously stashed away. New idealistic warden (Henry Fonda) would only make Pitman think of getting his fortune even sooner.
8. Mohawk (1956 – Color)– Scott Brady
Scott Brady stars as an 18th century Boston artist, sent to Mohawk Valley to paint landscapes and portraits of Native Americans. Brady is forced to pack up his easel when he becomes embroiled in a war between the Indians and avaricious land baron John Hoyt. The villain intends to play both ends against the middle, then claim what's left when the Mohawks and settlers wipe each other out. Brady not only defies Hoyt, but also battles near-psychotic Mohawk warrior Neville Brand.
11. Gone with the West (1975) – James Caan (COLOR)
James Caan stars as Jud McGraw, a cowboy unjustly framed for a crime he didn't commit; he partners up with an ethically wronged Native American woman named Little Moon (Stefanie Powers).
In response to the ills they have each suffered, the two set off to wreak vengeance on a small western town.
12. The Command (1954) - Guy Madison [Color] Guy Madison plays a medic in the US cavalry who is forced the assume the secret identity of an officer to lead a cavalry attachment assigned to protect a wagon train through hostile Indian territory to safety. The medic has no prior military training and has to lead the column from hints he acquires in a cavalry training manual. As well as the wagon train, there are US infantry he must also protect against the constant hit and run tactics of the Indians designed to wear them all down for final kill.
13. The Proud Rebel (1958) Alan Ladd [Color]- Searching for a doctor who can help him get his son to speak again--the boy hadn't uttered a word since he saw his mother die in the fire that burned down the family home--a Confederate veteran (Alan Ladd) finds himself facing a 30-day jail sentence when he's unfairly accused of starting a brawl in a small town. A local woman (Olivia deHavilland) pays his fine, providing that he works it off on her ranch. He soon finds himself involved in the woman's struggle to keep her ranch from a local landowner who wants it--and whose sons were responsible for the man being framed for the fight.
14. Santa Fe Passage (1955) John Payne, Faith Domergue and Rod Cameron [Color] - A disgraced Indian scout and his partner are hired to escort a wagon load of guns through Indian territory.
15. Albuquerque (1948) [COLOR] - Randolph Scott - Cole Armin (Randolph Scott), recruited by his corrupt uncle as heir apparent to his freight-hauling empire, defects to his honest rival.
16. Vera Cruz (1954) [COLOR] . Gary Cooper, Burt Lancaster - During the Mexican Rebellion of 1866, an unsavory group of American adventurers are hired by the forces of Emperor Maximilian to escort a countess to Vera Cruz.
17. Joe Kidd (1972) [COLOR] Clint Eastwood - An ex-bounty hunter reluctantly helps a wealthy landowner and his henchmen track down a Mexican revolutionary leader.
18. The Great Sioux Uprising (1953) [COLOR] Jeff Chandler - During the Civil War, Southern agitators and a crooked horse dealer endanger the peace between the Union and the Wyoming Sioux.
19. YUMA (1971) Clint Walker [Color] - A tough marshal is sent to clean up a lawless western town.
20. The Texas Rangers (1951) - George Montgomery [Color] - It's 1874 and the Texas Rangers have been reorganized. But Sam Bass has assembled a group of notorious outlaws into a gang the Rangers are unable to cope with. So the Ranger Major releases two men from prison who are familiar with the movements and locations used by Bass and his men and sends them out to find him.
21. Bend of the River (1952) - James Stewart, Rock Hudson [Color] - When a town boss confiscates homesteader's supplies after gold is discovered nearby, a tough cowboy risks his life to try and get it to them.
22. The Man From Colorado (1948) (Color) Glenn Ford & William Holden - Two friends (Glenn Ford & William Holden ) return home after their discharge from the army after the Civil War. However, one of them has had deep-rooted psychological damage due to his experiences during the war, and as his behavior becomes more erratic--and violent--his friend desperately tries to find a way to help him.
23. Man With The Gun (1955) (Color) Robert Mitchum - When a notorious tough 'town tamer' (Robert Mitchum) is hired by the citizenry to rid of the gunmen driving them off their land, he finds the local saloon madam to be an old friend.
24. The Last Outpost a.k.a. Cavalry Charge (1951) - Ronald Reagan [Color] - Two brothers who are not the best friends because they were fighting on different sides during the Civil War have to cooperate in order to defend themselves against an attack of Indians.
25. The King and Four Queens (1956) [Color]- Clark Gable - Opportunistic con man Dan Kehoe (Clark Gable) ingratiates himself with the cantankerous mother of four outlaws and their beautiful widows in order to find their hidden gold.
26. Cattle Empire (1958) [Color] Joel McCrea - After serving a five year prison sentence for allowing his men to destroy a town in a drunken spree, a trail boss (Joel McCrea) is hired by the same town's leading citizen to drive their cattle to Fort Clemson. Complicating matters, a rival cattle baron also hires the cattle driver to lead his herd.
27. Geronimo (1962) (Color) - Chuck Connors - Geronimo (Chuck Connors) an Apache warrior who defies U.S. attempts to bring the Indians under control grapples with an array of U.S. soldiers sent to subdue his revolt. Sympathetic scouts seek to bring Geronimo back to the reservation before he is hunted down.
28. Western..Cavalry Charge...aka. ''The Last Outpost (1951) (Color) - Ronald Reagan - Despite their fighting on opposite sides during the Civil War, brothers Vance (Ronald Reagan) and Jeb Britton (Bruce Bennett) have to set their differences aside in order to survive an Indian attack. [ADDED]
29. Distant Drums (1951) - Gary Cooper - (Color) - Captain Quincy Wyatt (Gary Cooper) and an Army company fight gunrunners and Seminoles in the Everglades. In 1840, U.S. Army General Zachary Taylor sends out naval Lieutenant Tufts and scout Monk to a remote Florida island home, where the reclusive Captain Quincy Wyatt lives with a 5-year-old son. The soldiers' mission is to destroy an old Spanish fort used by gunrunners, and rescue men and women taken prisoner by Seminole warriors. One of them, Judy Beckett, develops a romantic attraction to Capt. Wyatt as they flee the Indians into the Everglades. Most of the other Army troops are massacred after Wyatt and Tufts separate from them to construct canoes. Back at his home, Wyatt is distraught to find that his son is gone. He has an underwater fight to the death with Seminole chief Oscala, then is relieved to learn that his boy is safe. [ADDED]
30. Saskatchewan (1954) Alan Ladd – [COLOR] O'Rourke (Alan Ladd) and his Cree half-brother Cajou (Jay Silverheels) are returning from a northern Canadian trapping trip when they encounter a burned wagon train and sole survivor Grace. Naive Mountie commander Benton believes it to be a Cree attack. The Sioux from across the border are trying to force the Cree into being allies in their struggle with the U.S. seventh cavalry. O'Rourke must mutiny to save the men. He must also aid Grace, in whom Marshal Smith (Hugh O’Brien) has both official and unprovoked amorous interests. Length: 1 hr 23 min [ADDED]
31. Daniel Boone, Trail Blazer (1956) - Bruce Bennett, Lon Chaney Jr., - [COLOR] - This is a low-budgeted film about the famous Daniel Boone (Bruce Bennet). After the guidance, a party settlers from North Caroline to the fertile valley of Kentucky, Boone undergoes several adventures. This time Boone is living along with his wife and sons in Boonesborough, when his eldest son is kidnapped and murdered by the Shawnees Indians. Boone unites a group to track down a carriage full of children that is surrounded by the Indians, but he's taken prisoner and submitted risked proof, but later he escapes. Chief Blackfish (Lon Chaney Jr) and Boone accord a meeting in the location named thousand waterfalls but an Indians masquerading as white men threatening the peace. Then the Indians attack the fort Booneesborough. [ADDED]
32. Smoky (1946) Fred MacMurry [COLOR] - Clint Barkley (MacMurry) first sees Smoky as a runaway, and drives him back to the ranch where he meets the owner, Julie Richards (Anne Baxter). He is given a job on her ranch, but the head cowhand is doubtful about Clint and fears that since he refuses to talk about himself, he must have some dreadful secret in his past. Clint and Smoky become close to each other, weathering the hardships of Western life and the suspicions of others together, until one day, Smoky tragically vanishes. [ADDED]

10. The Proud And The Damned (1972) – (COLOR) – Chuck Connors:
A group of five Confederate mercenaries led by Sergeant Will Hansen (Chuck Connors) must choose sides carefully in a small village where they find themselves trapped in the middle of a rebellion. The group is torn as to whether they should honor the powerful military dictator who forces them to spy for him or help the local village fight for its independence. Follow Sergeant Hansen and his men as they make a decision that could cost them their lives.
